Vacancy: Payroll & Compensation Specialist

As a Payroll & Compensation Specialist you are a member of the HR team and report to the HR Manager. You are a specialist in your field of expertise, and you will make a suitable sparring partner for the HR manager.

The Payroll & Compensation Specialist is an independent professional and responsible for the processing of monthly payrolls, identifying process improvements and executing initiatives. You are the first point of contact for all payroll, compensation and benefits and related questions.

YOUR MAIN
RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

  • To manage and ensure accurate and on time processing and recording of company’s monthly payroll for office staff and seafarers, in compliance with government regulations;
  • To ensure compliance of all statutory payroll related tax filings and payments are made;
  • To provide timely and accurate financial information and reporting;
  • To own the expert role with respect to pension, employee insurances and other compensations;
  • Proactively identify changes in legislation and regulations and provide advice to the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Secondary Vocational education – “MBO bedrijfsadministratie” or a relevant bachelor’s degree in finance;
  • PDL payroll education level is mandatory;
  • “Vakopleiding” Payroll services (VPS) is an advantage;
  • At least 5 years of experience within salary administration;
  • An independent and proactive attitude;
  • Experience within the maritime industry is preferred;
  • In depth knowledge of Social Security, tax and employment legislation in The Netherlands;
  • Experience within an international organization;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience with Seacrew and Salaris Gemak (Exact) is an advantage;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Dutch.
