Jumbo’s Commercial Shipping Department deals with logistical transport solutions for a fleet of 8 vessels with lifting capacities up to 3000 mt operating worldwide and 31 vessels together with our joint venture partner SAL under the Jumbo SAL Alliance. To strengthen the Commercial Shipping team Jumbo is looking for a Tender Manager (Shipping).
The Manager Tendering Shipping is responsible for managing, coordination and supervision of assigned tenders within the Commercial Shipping Department in consultation with Manager Commerce Shipping. It’s possible to fulfil this position from our office in Schiedam.
The Tender Manager is a communicative and a creative, goal-oriented problem solver who takes pride in facilitating tenders at the highest level, by working accurately with an eye for detail.
MAIN
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of the Tendering Shipping department;
- Ensure compliance of assigned shipping tenders with Jumbo policies and guidelines;
- Allocate resources within the tender department;
- Contribute to Bid/No-bid decisions with Regional Commercial Manager / Manager Chartering & Projects;
- Make recommendations for price levels of shipping tenders and ensure consistency over shipping tenders issued;
- Oversee correct qualification of shipping tenders for consistency with Jumbo policies;
- Preparation of assigned shipping tenders;
- Co-ordinate shipping tender clarifications;
- Informing and reporting to the Jumbo SAL Alliance Chartering Board (forecast/ actual/ main tenders);
- Reports and highlights critical activities to the Manager Commerce Shipping;
- Liaison and coordination with Operations Department, Legal Department, Engineering, Department, Financial Department, Purchasing Department, HRM Department, Technical Department and QHSE Department for tendering purposes.
WE
REQUIRE
- Bachelor or Master degree. Engineering degree is a pre;
- Understanding of Heavy Lift Shipping / good technical and operational background is preferred;
- Appreciation of the risks of Heavy Lift Shipping;
- Knowledge of standard BIMCO Supply time/ voyage charter contracts;
- Knowledge of Heavy Lift Shipping market;
- Fully conversant in English (verbally and in writing);
- Some knowledge of the Dutch or German language is helpful, depending on location.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
