Jumbo’s Offshore Department deals with transport and installation solutions for our 2 DP vessels with lifting capacities up to 900 mt and a water depth reach of 3000 m operating worldwide. Beside the Offshore team we have a shipping department where we operate with 8 vessels and 31 vessels together with our joint venture partner SAL under the Jumbo SAL Alliance.

Jumbo’s Fleet Management department is responsible for the full technical support of all vessels for both shipping and offshore. The team consists of Technical Superintendents, Project Managers reporting to the Manager Fleet. Because of our strategic ambitions in the area of sustainability, fleet renewal and development of smart asset management solutions, we are looking for a Junior Technical Superintendent.

This position is designed as an entry point for an engineer who wants to develop into a Technical Superintendent. Through an onboarding and learning trajectory, you will become familiar with Jumbo’s vessels, technical standards, maintenance processes and project operations. You will work closely with experienced colleagues and gradually build up your knowledge of maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, vessel inspections and drydock preparation.

In this role, you will support the technical management of several Jumbo Heavy Lift vessels and contribute to their safe, economic and efficient operation. You will also support Jumbo’s project teams in the preparation and execution of shipping and offshore projects with respect to the vessel and her certification, while gaining hands-on experience in technical coordination and the preparation of temporary project equipment.

MAIN
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the technical management of assigned vessels in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory and statutory requirements;
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to vessels under the guidance of senior colleagues;
  • Support project teams in preparing mobilizations and projects for Jumbo Shipping and/or Jumbo Offshore and assist during project execution;
  • Assist in the preparation, organization and follow-up of ship dry-docking activities;
  • Support vessel inspections, surveys, repairs and coordination with Class and Flag State;
  • Help monitor and maintain vessel certification and statutory documentation;
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets for assigned vessels;
  • Support the purchasing process for spare parts, stores and technical services in a correct and cost-effective manner.

WE
REQUIRE

  • Technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in shipping, offshore or another technical environment;
  • Affinity with vessel maintenance, ship management and maritime operations;
  • Fully conversant in English (verbally and in writing);
  • Willing to travel and spend time abroad;
  • Willingness to work irregular hours.
