For Project Vanguard, Jumbo Offshore is responsible for the transportation and installation scope related to Transition Pieces for the offshore wind farm. At the Marshalling Yard in Flushing, these components are received, inspected, stored, prepared and made ready for load-out to the installation vessel. To support this scope as from mid-September 2026, we are looking for detail-oriented and practically minded professionals for the role of: Freelance QA/QC Engineer.
MAIN
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide QA/QC support to the Marshalling Yard team and onsite operations in liaison with project engineer, site manager and project QHSE engineer;
- Coordinate and perform inspections of Transition Pieces upon arrival in Flushing as part of the hand-over process;
- Be responsible for the inspection and test plan for the Marshalling Yard scope;
- Monitor and verify the quality of Transition Piece preparation work carried out in the yard;
- Be responsible for the preparation dossier and ensure documentation is accurate, complete and available when required;
- Monitor the implementation of the Marshalling Yard Quality Plan and advise on improvements where needed.
Your Day-to-Day Tasks
- Inspect incoming components and preparation activities against project specifications and quality requirements;
- Coordinate with project engineering, supervisors and subcontractors on inspection planning and quality follow-up;
- Record inspection findings, deviations and corrective actions in a clear and structured manner;
- Support the compilation and maintenance of handover and preparation documentation;
- Contribute to continuous improvement of inspection, reporting and documentation processes;
- Work closely with the onsite project team during load-in, storage, preparation and load-out activities, including phases with extended operational hours;
- Escalate quality deviations and non-conformities to site manager and project team;
- Interface with Client reps, MWS (Marine Warranty Surveyor) and Certifying Authorities
WE
REQUIRE
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering or a related technical discipline;
- Experience in QA/QC, inspections or quality assurance within offshore, maritime, heavy industry, fabrication or construction projects;
- Experience with visual inspection and test plans, quality dossiers and technical documentation;
- A structured and accurate way of working, with strong attention to detail;
- The ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with project teams and stakeholders;
- Willing to work in shifts in a back to back rotation;
- Good communication skills and a practical, solution-oriented and pro-active mindset;
- Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
