Jumbo’s QHSE department is responsible for the company management system, for compliance with ISM/ISPS/MLC and advising on safe working practices for both company as projects. To strengthen the QHSE Department Jumbo seeks a DPA / QHSE Engineer (Shipping).

The DPA / QHSE engineer will support the vessels and projects with DPA / QHSE related topics and will challenge the project on QHSE related matters, initiate improvements and define risk reducing measures. As QHSE engineer, you will align with client and subcontractor to implement the safest way of working for the project.

WHAT
WILL YOU BE DOING

As DPA

  • Focal point for the vessels related to ISM/ISPS/MLC related matters;
  • Perform internal audits on our vessels;
  • Guide/manage external (client) audits on our vessels;
  • Update and maintain the Incident Registration System;
  • Incident investigation and follow-up;
  • Report ISM/ISPS matters for the Management Review;
  • Maintain and improve standard vessel management documentation.

As QHSE Engineer

  • Assist Project Manager in QHSE related matters, like making project documentation, contact with Clients on HSE related matters;
  • Facilitate internal and external Audits, Surveys and;
  • Recommend corrective actions, monitor follow-up and close outs
  • Act as trainer for our ‘’Stay Well Program’’;
  • Maintain standard of Jumbo Project Tools such as documents, trainings, methods;
  • Support Commerce during tender phase on QHSE related matters.

WHO
ARE YOU

  • BCs or MSc level who’s ready to take the next career step;
  • Experienced in maritime industry;
  • Sailing experience;
  • Experience in a DPA role and/or a DPA certificate is preferred;
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, ISM, ISPS, MLC;
  • HVK or Nebosh (or equivalent) is preferred;
  • Willing/able to travel to a vessel on a regular basis;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Teamplayer with a hands on mentality;
  • Strong in communication;
  • Flexible, self-motivated and pro-active;
  • Motivated to advocate the company QHSE policy and system.
