Jumbo Vision carries Integrated Template Structure (ITS) for Ocean Installer in Norway

May 2017

Early April 2017,  Jumbo was approached by a Norwegian subsea contractor, Ocean Installer, to undertake Project Johan Sverdrup. This involved carrying an Integrated Template Structure (ITS), weighing 274 tonnes, from Tønsberg to Stord in Norway on behalf of them and their end client Statoil.

The structure had to be in Stord no later than 03 May, giving Jumbo less than a month to complete engineering and obtain MWS approval for the transport.
Some of the challenges included draft restrictions in the port of loading, lifting height as well as the requirement for a deck extension due to the size of the structure.

All challenges were overcome using Jumbo’s experienced engineering staff as well as the Captain and dedicated crew on board of our Jumbo Vision, one of our H800 vessels.
The ITS was loaded in Tønsberg on the 29 April and safely discharged in Stord on 01 May.
