Announcement: New CEO

Home » Announcement: New CEO

On behalf of The Supervisory Board of Jumbo, I am happy to announce our new CEO, Daan Koornneef.

With more than 30 years of experience in the maritime sector, a career that started with a study in operations and maritime technology in the RNL Navy, followed by executive positions within a.o. Wijsmuller, Svitzer, SmitLamnalco and IQIP, we believe that he is the perfect candidate to guide Jumbo to the next chapter. He is currently Managing Director of, the US based company, Resolve Marine.

“With the new reality after Covid, the energy transition, geopolitical developments, the high demand for transport, pressure on the labor market, Jumbo Maritime faces challenging times but at the same time a multitude of opportunities ahead” as quoted by Daan Koornneef. “Jumbo is a market leader through its pioneering technology and skilled and experienced teams and for being a reliable partner to all stakeholders. I am delighted and proud to join the Jumbo team and confident that we can take the company to a great future together!”

Daan will start on January 2nd, 2023. It was a pleasure stepping in the last few months and I will remain part of Jumbo as Chairman of The Supervisory Board. I would like to welcome Daan with Jumbo and am looking forward to his future within the company.

Kind regards,
Rob van Wingerden

Daan Koornneef, CEO Jumbo Maritime
